Updates for June 30th

Today was a shocking day for trades coming from the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago was looking to trade forward Patrick Sharp for a while now to help clear up cap space. But today's trade by them was a complete shock to their fanbase. Along with that some sources claim the reasons on why Mike Richard's' contract was terminated and the Detroit Red Wings bought out the contract of forward Stephen Weiss. But for right now here are the trades that have happened today.

Updates
The Boston Bruins traded goalie Martin Jones to the San Jose Sharks for forward Sean Kuraly and a 2016 1st round draft pick.

Chicago traded forwards Brandon Saad, Alexander Broadhurst, and defenseman Michael Paliotta  to the Columbus Blue Jackets for forwards Artem Anisimov, Jeremy Morin, Corey Tropp, Marko Dano, and a 2016 4th round draft pick.

The Vancouver Canucks traded defenseman Kevin Bieksa to the Anahiem Ducks for a 2016 2nd round draft pick.

The Edmonton Oilers traded forward Boyd Gordon to the Arizona Coyotes for forward Lauri Korpikoski.

Earlier today TMZ (not a very trust worthy site about sports) reported that the reason why Richard's contract was terminated was because he had an issue at the US and Canadian border with oxycodon. Link to the full story

Also the Detroit Red Wings bought out Weiss' contract for the purpose of possibly getting a top defenseman for tomorrow's free agency. The team is reported to be looking at Mike Green where he would be getting paid $6 million a season according to Ansar Khan, a reporter for the Red Wings (Source). Either way Detroit would have nothing to worry about for this year's cap space since they are $15 million left. But with a top playing defenseman could affect the cap space for next year with the signing of some of their players such as Justin Abdelkader, Darren Helm, Danny DeKeyser, Riley Sheahan, and Petr Mzarek which the team would like to keep.
