Draft day has arrived upon us today. But along with that comes the trades.
So far the only team that has been making major headlines are the Boston Bruins. They traded probably one of their best defenseman, Dougie Hamilton, to the Calgary Flames for top draft picks. Another trade they have made is forward Milan Lucic to the Los Angeles Kings for goalie Martin Jones, defenseman Colin Miller, and a 13th overall draft pick for today's draft.
Other deals were made such as forward David Legwand and goalie Robert Lehner from the Ottawa Senators to the Buffalo Sabres for a 21st overall draft picks. The Chicago Blackhawks are looking to trade forwards Patrick Sharp, Bryan Bickell, and Kris Versteeg. Chicago is looking for a 1st round draft pick and a defenseman for Sharp. After all these trades two players were signed for their team. Those players are Joakim Andersson for a one year contract for the Detroit Red Wings and defenseman Adam McQuaid for a four year contract for Boston.
